Records and Information Management

Our services include document storage, file and record retrieval services including transportation, indexing and records inventory, secure document destruction, and document scanning and imaging services.  With records management never being more critical than today, CRC works with various clients to ensure they are meeting the changing regulations and compliances associated with records and information management.

Our local team will work to ensure all customers receive premium, cost effective services, while helping organizations meet specific regulations including HIPPA, Gramm-Leach Bliley, Sarbanes-Oxley, and FACTA to name a few.

History

For over 30 years, Commercial Record Center has provided records and information management services to the Chicagoland area. Commercial Record Center is owned and operated under The Westerberg Companies. The Westerberg Companies parent company, Nelson Westerberg, was founded in 1904 by Oscar Westerberg and Fred Nelson, as a family owned and operated coal and ice delivery service. They soon began moving bulky furniture and pianos to meet the needs of Chicago’s growing population. In 1980, Nelson Westerberg became one of the premier transportation and logistics companies in the country.

As Nelson Westerberg and their customers started to grow, so did the need for a safe secure location to store their abundance of confidential documents. To answer their needs, Commercial Record Center was formed in 1984, providing records and information management services throughout the Chicagoland area. The owners wanted to provide a secure, efficient and convenient offsite document storage service to businesses of all types and sizes. Soon after CRC realized their customers needed additional services, CRC expanded beyond records storage to provide additional services including: file and record retrieval services including transportation, indexing and records inventory, secure document destruction, and document scanning and imaging services.

Today, Commercial Record Center continues its family-owned status and true to its core business of providing safe, secure and highly efficient records retention and information management services. Serving hundreds of customers in the Chicagoland area, we work hard to maintain our reputation of a leading records and information management company in Chicago.
